OTHER LOCAL EVENTS COMING UP :)

Eventually I will get around to putting up a separate calendar to the side of the blog so that I just add other local events to that but for now I will just post them in a bunch together.

Downes St Bushcare Group is having a site tour and BBQ at the end of Boundary Road near Downes St on this coming Sunday 21 August at 1pm. Come along and see the great work that this group of local bush regenerators are doing! More volunteers are needed. For further information please call Matt Springall on 9415 3998. Matt can also tell you about a free Bushcare workshop in North Epping on Saturday 10 September (details of venue not yet finalised).

Epping Street Fair, sponsored by Epping Rotary and the Epping Club, is on Sunday 28 August in Rawson St from 10am to 4pm. There will be a mix of stalls, entertainment, community information, a live talent quest, junior art show and other activities aimed at getting the community together.

Epping Street Fair 2009

Transition Epping is an overarching organisation interested in promoting any events that have the potential to improve community interaction and the environment so please email Sandra details of events we can publicise. We now have close to 150 people on our elist!

Finally, we would love to see as many of you as possible at one of our forthcoming events!
Until next time.

NORTH EPPING SHOPPING VILLAGE GARDEN WORKING BEE - 22ND OCTOBER

Our October event, currently planned for Saturday morning 22 October at North Epping Shopping Village will be a hands-on working bee to clean up the garden bed areas along Roma St and Malton Road . Everyone is welcome to attend to pitch in and pull out a few weeds. Thanks to the couple who have started doing some weeding already! The blue bin has gone so we will be doing some planting adjacent to our carpark garden. We will need some more watering volunteers for the hot weather so please let Sandra know if you’re able to help out once a week (takes about 40 minutes).

You can also contact Sandra to find out more about these events and be on the e-list for group :).

SPRING FAMILY BUSHWALK - 18TH SEPTEMBER

Our September event will be a Spring familt bushwalk along Terry's Creek on Sunday 18 September from 1PM to 3PM approximately.  The walk will be guided by our own Mark Cachia and colleague, Kurtis, who will tell us about the plant, animal and bird life along this very important biodiversity corridor which leads into Lane Cove National Park. Powerful owls and yellow tipped black cockatoos have been regularly spotted along the creek. We will also see what Bushcare groups have achieved. The walk, which is a loop track about 3km long running along the Hornsby Council western side of the creek and then back along the Ryde Council eastern side, will commence from Forrester Park at the end of Essex St, Epping. If raining, the walk will be postponed.
